Born and raised in Jacksonville, FL, Pastor Wetherbee was saved at 14 years of age and called to preach at age 15. He graduated from the Bible Baptist Seminary in 1973 and pastored in Columbus, GA for 18 years. Currently, Pastor Wetherbee is serving his in his 20th year at Victory. He and his wife Shelley have two children, Jason and Tammy, and 3 grandchildren. Dr. Wetherbee has served at Victory since 1993.
Assistant Pastor / Finance Manager
After growing up in Providence, RI, Rob attended Pensacola Christian College where he earned his BA and travelled for two years as a college representative. After he and his wife, Patti, were married, they moved to Victory Baptist to serve as youth director at the beginning of 1994. After serving in that capacity for 12 years, Rob transitioned into his current role of administrative and financial duties. He and Patti have four children: Robbie, Tessa, Emma, and Vinnie.
After growing up in Kansas, Jonathan moved to Texas in the late 1970's to attend Arlington Baptist College. After graduating, he and his wife Lara began the Regency Baptist Church of Arlington, TX in 1984. After 12 years with RBC, the Lord led he and his wife to Victory where they have now served since 1997. Brother Stewart oversees the missions, education, and publishing ministries of VBC. Jonathan and Lara have three children: Hannah, Jonathan, and Jerushah, and one grandchild.
After growing up in a Christian home in Chicago, IL, Matt attended Pensacola Christian College, graduating in 2004. In 2005, Matt and his wife, Kelly, moved to Weatherford to become VBC's youth director, which he did for three years before transitioning into his current position. Matt is nearing the completion of two graduate degrees: one in Bible Exposition and one in Christian Education. He and Kelly have been married for seven years and have three children: Trenton, Brittany, and Brady.
Daniel grew up in Cincinnati, OH where his father pastored Winton Place Baptist Church. Daniel met his wife Natalie, who grew up in Parker County, at college. Daniel joined the VBC staff in 2012, but has worked with young people for the last 5 years.
Children's Minister / Maintenance
Joel was raised in a pastor's home in North Richland Hills, TX and spent many summers traveling with his father leading VBS in churches across the country. Since 1982, Joel and his wife, Penny, have lived in Weatherford and faithfully served in various ministries. After being in the construction business for many years, Joel felt the Lord's leading to become full-time staff at VBC as Children's Director and Maintenance Supervisor. Joel's commitment to children and imaginative creativity can be seen in our phenomenal Discovery Zone kid's program and his annual Vacation Bible School. He and Penny have three children: Jeremy, Amanda, and Micah and have two grandchildren. Joel has served at Victory since 2004.
Antonio grew up in a family who was actively involved in their church in Mexico, and eventually, he was saved at age 9. After he and his wife, Edith, were married, they moved to Arlington, TX where he worked as the music director at Trinity Baptist Church for 9 years. In 2005, the Lord led the Aguilars to begin the Spanish ministry at VBC. Antonio and Edith have two children: Cesia and Josue.
Sherry was born and raised in Weatherford and has seen a lot of changes during those years. She and her husband, Erwin, served for several years at a church in Mineral Wells before moving to Iran for two years due to her husband's employment at Bell International. Sherry has been a member of VBC since 1979 and has served as the church secretary since 1993. Sherry and Erwin have three sons and seven grandchildren.
C.A.R.E. Crisis Counselor
For the past 21 years, Martha has been serving the Lord as a lay biblical counselor in churches across the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex and surrounding areas. Growing up in a Baptist preacher's home, she developed a great love for people and music. For the past 16 years, Martha has been the director of the C.A.R.E. Crisis counseling ministry at Victory. She has two children, Bart and Natalie, and has been married to her husband Johnny for 19 years. Martha joined our staff in 1998.
Not only was Scott born and raised in Weatheford, he also has been at VBC his whole life. His mother was a charter member. After five years of helping with church maintenance, Scott began working full-time as the custodian nine years ago. He and his wife Katie, who teaches at a local elementary school, have been married for 8 years. They have one daughter, Lily, who they adopted in January of 2008. Scott has served at Victory since 2001.
Kelly grew up in Springfield, TN, and met her husband, Matt, while attending Pensacola Christian College. After completing her bachelors degree in Advertising/PR with a Graphic Design minor, she and Matt moved to Texas to serve at Victory. She has worked part-time at Victory since June of 2008. Kelly and Matt have three children, Trenton, Brittany and Brady
